North Carolina Teachers collects personal information provided by you when you complete an online application, when you register an account, when you request more information from us, submitting payment online, and when you submit documentation to us, such as the “I Got a Job” form. North Carolina Teachers may combine information about you with information we receive from the State of North Carolina, North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI), Educator Preparation Program (EPP), and North Carolina state-approved testing vendors.
When you submit an application to us, we ask for information such as your name, e-mail address, birth date, ZIP code, employment history, gender, ethnicity, Social Security number, personal interests, educational background, and phone numbers. This information is used solely to determine your eligibility for our Educator Preparation Program (EPP), to provide required demographic information to the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI), and to maintain our records should you be admitted to the Educator Preparation Program (EPP).
North Carolina Teachers automatically recognizes and stores information from your web browsing session including the domain name, aggregate non-personal information on what pages you visit or access, information volunteered by you, such as preferences, survey information, and our online application. When you are registered on our web site and are signed into your account, you are not anonymous to us.
The information we collect is used to improve the experience on our web site, to customize the content and layout of pages you visit, and to contact you for purposes related to our EPP program or in response to a request for contact.

Your personal information may be shared with agents or contractors who assist in providing support for our internal operations, disclosed when legally required to do so at the request of governmental authorities to verify or enforce compliance with the policies governing our web site and applicable laws, and to protect against misuse or unauthorized use of our web site. We share information with the North Carolina NCDPI for official licensure purposes. North Carolina Teachers may share your information with our parent company, Teachers of Tomorrow, in order to enhance our services to further your educational and professional goals. North Carolina Teachers does not share your information with other organizations for commercial purposes.
North Carolina Teachers may also share your personal information with NCDPI-approved schools and districts requesting candidates for employment should you meet the criteria specified and are eligible for hire.
We may share aggregated, non-personal information with others; however such information does not identify you individually.
When you visit the North Carolina Teachers web site, we send and retrieve one or more cookies (a small file containing a special string of characters) to you that are stored on your computer and uniquely identify your web browser. We take appropriate security measures to protect against the unauthorized use, alteration, disclosure, and destruction of data. We limit access to your personal information to North Carolina Teachers employees, contractors, and agents who we believe reasonably need contact with that information in the course of providing you with services, products, or to do their jobs.
